America’s Next Top Model Cycle 12 began last week in my favorite town…VEEEGAAASSS!!! The girls shacked up at Caesar’s and there was a “goddess” theme to the whole episode which was as creepy as ever. I think it would be really fun to be on this show, but I don’t think I could pretend to be in love with Tyra like that. I swear one girl was almost having an orgasm talking about it. Here were some of the notable girls from the semi-finalist round:
- Sandra from Kenya who’s got the drama thing down. She immediately starts crying upon seeing Tyra, gets in a girlfight minutes into the episode, and gets in another fight towards the end of the episode. She’s definitely cued up to be the bitch of the season.
- Next there’s London…the freaky Christian girl. She says she’s a street preacher and starts preaching Jesus infront of the judges panel. How crazy is that? Besides the fact that she’s not cute, they would NEVER pick a religious psycho to be America’s next top model.
- Thalia, the burn survivor. Thalia is awesome…she was a burn victim after pulling a coffee pot on herself when she was a child. She has burn scars all over her body. She is incredibly brave and I think it’s great that she’s doing this…but the modeling industry can be cruel. She found this out right away when the designer put her in garments that covered her entire body, while the other girls were quite scantily clad.
- Some crazy chick from Colorado who’s a conspiracy theorist. She tells the judges that Pearl Harbor was a set up and that she just got a gun for her birthday. She got eliminated right away. no surprise there!
- Isabella, who’s epileptic. After recently watching Brett and Jermaine from Flight of the Conchords search for an epileptic dog named Charlie, I couldn’t help but find this a little coincidental and funny. But in all seriousness, Isabella is a beautiful girl. But she talks about how flashing lights are bad for her condition and often bring on seizures. Isn’t that a problem when all models do is walk the runway in a strobe light and get their picture taken with flashes??? That is just a dramatic episode waiting to happen. Nevertheless, I was surprised when Isabella got the boot during competition one.
With this bunch of crazies, it looks like it’s going to be a great season. Also during commercials, Tyra announced the casting call for Cycle 13…models 5′7 and under! What do you think…should I try out? Is there such thing as a short plus-size model?
